The Huntingdonshire Philharmonic Orchestra has been at the heart of quality music making in Huntingdonshire for nearly half a century. Founded in 1977 by amalgamating Huntingdon Choral and Orchestral Societies, we are one of the largest amateur musical bodies in the region.

Manuel De Falla: El Amor Brujo
“El Amor Brujo” (Love, the Magician) is a captivating ballet composed by Spanish composer Manuel de Falla in 1914-1915. The work remains a cherished gem in Spanish music, resonating with audiences worldwide for its fiery passion, soulful melodies, and profound storytelling.

Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: Capriccio Espagnol
“Capriccio Espagnol” is a brilliant and vivid orchestral composition by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, completed in 1887. Inspired by the vibrant colors and rhythms of Spanish folk music, the piece captures the essence of Spanish culture with flair and virtuosity.

Jean Sibelius: Symphony No. 5
Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5 in E-flat major is a striking and evocative masterpiece, completed in 1915. Considered one of his finest symphonic achievements, the work showcases Sibelius’ unique style, characterized by its majestic grandeur, sweeping melodies, and powerful orchestration.
