DESCRIPTION:The Hinchingbrooke Bosendorfer Piano Concerts 2023 – 2024Welcome to the seventeenth series of concerts at the PAC | Performing Arts Centre\, Hinchingbrooke School\, Huntingdon.\nWe are again hosting internationally acclaimed artists using the superb Bosendorfer concert grand piano\, donated to the school by old pupils in memory of former music director Kenneth Brown. \nFriday January 26th 2024: Katya Apekisheva\nTrained at the fabled Knessin Music School in Moscow and prizewinner in the Leeds international competition\, Katya has become one of Europe’s foremost pianists. She is greatly in demand for solo and ensemble work and has performed concerto soloist with some of the world’s leading orchestras. \nHer programme will include music by Schubert and Liszt.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the seventeenth series of concerts at the PAC | Performing Arts Centre\, Hinchingbrooke School\, Huntingdon.\nWe are again hosting internationally acclaimed artists using the superb Bosendorfer concert grand piano\, donated to the school by old pupils in memory of former music director Kenneth Brown.Friday November 24th 2023: Rob Burton saxophone with Richard Zhang piano\nRob Burton:\nHinchingbrooke alumni Rob Burton\, who After winning the woodwind section of the BBC Young Musician of the year in 2018\, undertook further studies in Switzerland. Since then his performing career has expanded enormously with highly successful concerts in the UK and internationally.\nRichard Zhang:\nRichard has recently completed a full musical and general education at the world renowned Menuhin School in Surrey and is at present enjoying a specially created extra year at the school in order to establish his career. He has already amassed a wide experience of highly acclaimed public performances in the UK and is planning many more this season. \n\n\nTheir programme will include music by Brahms and Schumann. \n\n\n\nDoors Open at 6:30PM\nStarts at 7:30PM

The work remains a cherished gem in Spanish music\, resonating with audiences worldwide for its fiery passion\, soulful melodies\, and profound storytelling. \nNikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: Capriccio Espagnol\n“Capriccio Espagnol” is a brilliant and vivid orchestral composition by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov\, completed in 1887. Inspired by the vibrant colors and rhythms of Spanish folk music\, the piece captures the essence of Spanish culture with flair and virtuosity. \nJean Sibelius: Symphony No. 5\nSibelius’ Symphony No. 5 in E-flat major is a striking and evocative masterpiece\, completed in 1915. Considered one of his finest symphonic achievements\, the work showcases Sibelius’ unique style\, characterized by its majestic grandeur\, sweeping melodies\, and powerful orchestration. \nDoors open at 6:30pm

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the seventeenth series of concerts at the PAC | Performing Arts Centre\, Hinchingbrooke School\, Huntingdon.\nWe are again hosting internationally acclaimed artists using the superb Bosendorfer concert grand piano\, donated to the school by old pupils in memory of former music director Kenneth Brown. \nFriday October 27th 2023: Julian Metzger cello with Paul Turner piano\nJulian Metzger:\nJulian has performed internationally as soloist and chamber musician as well as working with a wide variety of world famous orchestras.\nPaul Turner\nPaul is well known to us as a collaborative artist. His sensitive and alert playing displays that rare sense of sixth sense of timing “which is the true accompanist’s particular gift”. \nTheir programme will include music by Beethoven and Prokofiev.

SUMMARY:An Evening with Mark Crossley Former Premiership Goalkeeper
DESCRIPTION:Mark Crossley started his footballing career at Nottingham Forrest FC in 1987 as a trainee\, under the management of a certain Mr Brian Clough. Amongst Mark’s many hilarious recollections of his life in football\, he provides a fantastic insight into one of the most charismatic and perhaps the greatest manger in the game’s history. \nMark was a huge favourite with Forrest fans and made just under 400 appearances in thirteen years with the club\, becoming first-choice keeper at the start of the 1990-91 season. He was granted a testimonial match during the 1999–2000 season which was played in front of 15\,000 supporters. He was finally released from Forest\, against his will\, in 2000 as the club’s financial troubles required them to reduce the wage bill. \nMark subsequently played for Middlesbrough\, Fulham\, Sheffield Wednesday and Oldham Athletic. He has also represented Chesterfield as a player and coach and coached at Barnsley and Notts County. \nHe is the only goalkeeper to stop a Matthew Le Tissier penalty kick and also remains one of only three goalies to save a penalty in the FA Cup Final\, against Gary Lineker in 1991. \nMark was a regular in the Welsh international squad\, but served as understudy to Neville Southall\, and then Paul Jones. He started only eight games. His most memorable moment with the national team was Wales’ 4–0 win over Scotland.
