This overture encapsulates the tragic tale of love\, fate\, and revenge. \nSergei Rachmaninov: Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini \nRachmaninov’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini” is a virtuosic and captivating work for piano and orchestra. Based on a theme from Niccolò Paganini’s Violin Caprice No. 24\, Rachmaninov takes the simple melody and weaves an intricate tapestry of 24 variations\, each displaying his exceptional skill at the piano and melodic inventiveness. \nPietro Mascagni: Cavalleria Rusticana (Intermezzo) \nMascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” Intermezzo paints a vivid picture of the Sicilian countryside\, transporting listeners and has become a beloved concert piece in its own right\, frequently performed as a standalone work by orchestras worldwide. \nEdward Elgar: Enigma Variations \nElgar’s “Enigma Variations” is a mesmerizing and innovative orchestral work\, composed in 1899.
